Privacy Policy — Morphon

Morphon is a single-purpose iOS / iPadOS app for live-physics generative art. This privacy policy explains how we treat your information — which is, mostly, by not touching it at all.

Short version

Morphon does not collect any personal information. There are no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising IDs, no accounts, no servers we communicate with, and no third-party SDKs. Whatever you make in the app stays on your device.

What’s stored on your device

The app uses Apple’s UserDefaults system to remember a few things locally so the app works as expected. None of this data ever leaves your device:

• Whether you’ve seen the first-launch onboarding tour.
• Which simulations you’ve marked as favourites.
• Your most recently opened simulations (last 8) for the gallery’s Recently Played row.
• Your tweaked parameter values per simulation, so a sim opens with your last settings instead of the defaults.
• Your Pro purchase status (this is also independently verified with the App Store on each launch via Apple’s StoreKit framework).
• Whether you have given us permission to add to your Photo Library (the actual permission grant is managed by iOS).

Photo Library access

When you tap Save or Record in a simulation, Morphon writes a PNG image or MP4 video to your Photo Library. iOS will prompt you for Photo Library access the first time. Morphon requests add-only permission — it cannot read your existing photos, only add new ones.

You can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Morphon.

In-app purchases

Morphon uses Apple’s StoreKit to offer a single in-app purchase (“Morphon Pro”). Apple manages the entire purchase flow; Morphon never sees your Apple ID, payment details, or any other identifying information. The only data Morphon receives back from Apple is a boolean telling it whether you’ve purchased Pro.

What Morphon does NOT do

To be very clear about what’s not happening:

• Morphon does not collect or transmit any personal information.
• Morphon does not use third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no anything else).
• Morphon does not use third-party crash reporting (no Sentry, no Crashlytics, no Bugsnag).
• Morphon does not show advertising of any kind.
• Morphon does not track you across apps or websites.
• Morphon does not use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
• Morphon does not make any network requests other than the ones Apple’s StoreKit framework makes during purchase verification.
• Morphon does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, health data, or any other system data beyond the add-only Photo Library access you explicitly grant.
• Morphon does not require an account; there is no account to create.

Children’s privacy

Morphon is rated 4+ in the App Store and is appropriate for all ages. Because we don’t collect any personal information, we don’t collect personal information from children either.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change anything about how Morphon handles data, we’ll update this page and bump the “Last updated” date at the top. The app’s design intent is to remain a no-data-collection product indefinitely.
